Westview GOLD is comprised of our band program, both marching and concert, as well as our orchestra and color guard team. Each unit is spectacular and award winning in their own right, and together they make up the larger organization and family that is Westview GOLD. Students will learn and grow in their area, but will still meet and make friends through out all of the program. Also, Westview GOLD accounts for over 10% of the student population at Westview, so you'll start your first day of high school with 250-ish familiar faces!

In 2015, our marching band show Dreams of Flying received our highest score in school history with 91.7 and placed 3rd overall. Last year, our field show Carmen took 2nd place, and scored within less than a point of the gold medal winner. We are very excited about our future!

Our concert bands consistantly receive superior ratings at the Poway and El Camino Festivals, pushing themselves with challenging wind band literature. Our Wind Ensemble performance of Blue Shades is a significant achievement for a high school ensemble.

The Westview GOLD orchestra was selected of the Poway School District to accompany an All-District Choir in a massive performance of the masterwork, Gabriel Faure's Requiem in January 2016.  Numerous accolades have been received for this outstanding group.  You can also listen to Borodin's Polyvetsian Dances.

And last but certainly not least, our color guard continues to excel not just during the marching season, but also in their individual winter guard. Winter guard is a indoor competition for color guard separate from marching field season. Their show "Transfigured Night" took 2nd place at WGASC Championships for the 2015 season.
